Basil – GrCh Cinnphony Marco Rolo
In early 2017 I decided that unless I had my own stud breeding would come to a halt, as I wanted to breed cinnamon & fawns but there was no suitable stud anywhere near where I lived. I rung Mary one evening, and spent some time on the phone convincing her I was a suitable person to have a stud. Eventually she said ‘yes’, and a few weeks later Basil became available. He arrived in due course, and has shown himself to have the most wonderful temperament and terrific coat colour.
After his first litter came along I got him a Superlorin implant which meant he could live in the house for quite some time – he had started spraying and being a sex pest! However towards the end of 2019 it started wearing off, and I had to start confining him to the kitchen and putting cling film over the electric sockets. Eventually enough was enough, and at present he’s living in a stud house with Max, my black neuter boy. They get the run of the garden for most of the day and I spend plenty of time with them as well.
He was reasonably successful at shows, getting his three CCs from Harry Meekings, Di Brown and Janet Tonkinson, and his three GCCs from Jane Allen, Joan Smith and the late and much missed Dr Bruce Bennett.
Future Stud – Dennis – Johpas Kobe
Jackie Reed and Pina (who owns the father) incredibly kindly let me have Dennis as a future stud. He had a long journey here from Suffolk, but rapidly recovered. He loves being kissed & cuddled, and he is a veritable Menace hence his pet name! Tia dotes on him and seems to think she has suddenly had a very big kitten, and Sadie regards him as a litter mate and plays with him.
I am thinking of knitting him a black & red stripped jumper, just like that well known naughty boy in The Beano! However he doesn’t have a dog as a pet.
He loves to try to help me eat and cook, he is so naughty and also so adorable. I very much hope he will pass his wonderful personality on to his kittens.
He is a chocolate tabby point, possibly ticked-based.
Dennis will be at closed stud.
